Florida: Groupthink on the Sarasota County School Board - Dr. Rich Swier
I am always fascinated by how politicians, once elected, don't do what they promised in order to get elected. Rather they become part of "the system". They

Sarasota County's Ethics Policy Gap
Today's blog post is by retired attorney and NYC judge Frank Brenner. Stand up for Ethics in Sarasota County. Sign the petition: The Leroy Collins Institute is a non-partisan, state-wide policy organization which, it asserts, “studies and promotes creative solutions to key public issues facing the people of Florida.” In 2012, reporting on “The Ethics Policy Gap,” the Institute revealed that Florida has long been ethically challenged; that its state-level ethics laws and enforcement are essentially frozen in time; that “Florida has a well-documented problem of public corruption at every level of government; and that the “State Integrity Investigation’s Corruptions Risk Report Card gave Florida an overall C–minus grade for corruption risk and an F grade for ethics enforcement agencies.” [ 540 more words. ]

Republican Party of Sarasota (RPOS)
The Republican Party of Sarasota (RPOS) is proud to have Commissioner Christine Robinson as a County Commissioner. She has served Sarasota well and we find no conflict between her role as Commissioner and as Argus ED. She has been one of the most Conservative County Commissioners Sarasota County has ever had and is to be thanked for her service. She has worked to reduce the burden on tax payers by holding spending and refusing to raise taxes.

Future of Clark Rd: Organic Food Hub, or Congestion & Sprawl?
Sarasota’s economy has been built on two elements: tourism and real estate. For years, local leaders have discussed the importance of diversifying our economy. Organic farming is emerging as an important avenue toward achieving that long sought-after goal. At the County’s annual Sustainable Sarasota conference, local agriculture advocate Don Hall told his audience that if Sarasota residents purchased 10 percent of their food from locally grown sources, it would add $80 million a year to our local economy.
